There’s just something about fall weddings, the colors, the cool air, and that golden light that seems to wrap everything in magic. Nick and Eva’s celebration at Sweet Water Hollow in Salmon, Idaho was nothing short of that kind of magic.

While Nick and Eva are already married, they actually eloped this summer, hiking with their closest friends and family to exchange vows in the mountains, this fall day was all about celebration. It wasn’t just for the two of them, but for everyone who loves them. The majority of their guests traveled in from out of town to celebrate, and that made the day even more special.

Sweet Water Hollow holds a very special place in their hearts. It’s where Nick and Eva first met, and over the years, it’s become a place where they’ve spent countless evenings listening to live music under the stars. So when it came time to plan their celebration, Sweet Water Hollow was the obvious choice, a place that already held their story.

Even though they didn’t hold a traditional ceremony that day, Nick and Eva shared something beautiful just between the two of them. They exchanged their handwritten vows again, this time in front of me, with the glow of fall colors all around us. Sweet Water Hollow never disappoints when autumn rolls in; the trees burst into gold and orange, and the light dances off the leaves in the most beautiful way.

Eva looked absolutely stunning. Her dress was elegant and timeless, her boots were effortlessly cool, and as the evening cooled off, she wrapped herself in her Grandma Doris’ jacket, a sentimental touch that made the night feel even more personal and warm.

Their details were just as thoughtful. Their invitations featured a watercolor painting of Salmon, Idaho, and the original artwork was framed and displayed on their dessert table. Speaking of desserts, Magaly’s truly outdid themselves. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I’m a big fan of Magaly’s (their lunches are always a favorite of mine). But their dessert spread was incredible, full of beautiful arrangements, flavor, and charm. They even served up some of the most delicious tacos I’ve ever had at a wedding!

The night was filled with everything you could hope for heartfelt toasts, amazing food, drinks, and plenty of dancing. The dance floor stayed full all evening as guests celebrated under the string lights and stars. As the sun dipped behind the mountains and the air turned crisp, guests bundled up with their coats and the cozy blankets set out for them. The Sweet Water Hollow staff always creates such a welcoming atmosphere, the lounge area they set up made everyone feel right at home and encouraged guests to linger just a little longer.

And of course, no celebration would have been complete without their dog, Chester, who happily made his rounds greeting guests and cleaning up any crumbs that might have fallen his way.
