Baby Reeves is on the WAY

I cannot believe this is real, but…

BABY REEVES is on the way

Yes, that’s right, Garrett and Brianna are expecting a little baby, and I am still somewhere between eeeeek! and how is this even real?!

There are some photography sessions that feel extra special before I even pick up my camera and this was absolutely one of them. Brianna is my niece, which means I’ve had the privilege of watching her through so many different seasons of her life. And now I get to watch her step into an entirely new one: becoming a mom.

And really, one of the perks of having an aunt who is a photographer is that your pregnancy announcement gets to be a whole experience.

We could not have asked for a prettier evening for these photos. The sunlight was absolutely perfect, soft, warm, golden and glowing in that way that makes everything feel just a little bit magical. Those golden tones are some of my absolute favorite colors to photograph, and they fit this season of Garrett and Brianna’s lives so perfectly.

Brianna looked absolutely beautiful in her floral dress. There was something so sweet about seeing her standing there in that golden light, holding onto the tiniest little secret that is already so incredibly loved. Garrett beside her, the two of them laughing and soaking it all in, it was one of those sessions where I found myself smiling behind my camera the entire time.

Pregnancy announcements are honestly some of my favorite sessions to photograph because there is so much wrapped up in them.

Excitement. Anticipation. A little disbelief. A whole lot of love.

It’s the very beginning of a story that is about to change everything.

That is one of my favorite things about being a Salmon Idaho Photographer. Photography allows me to step into people’s lives during so many different chapters. Senior photos turn into engagement photos. Engagements become weddings. Weddings become pregnancy announcements, maternity sessions, newborn photos and eventually family sessions filled with little hands, big personalities and all the beautiful chaos that comes with growing a family.

I get to document people as their lives change. And when those people are my own family? It hits a little differently.

These photographs aren’t just an announcement that Baby Reeves is coming. Someday, they’ll be part of that baby’s story too. They’ll be the pictures Brianna and Garrett can look back on and say, this was when we were waiting for you.

Before they knew what their baby’s personality would be like. Before the sleepless nights, first smiles, tiny outfits and all of the adventures ahead. Just Mom and Dad, standing together in the golden sunshine, dreaming about the little person they were about to meet.

As a Maternity Photographer and family photographer, those are the moments I never want people to overlook. Every stage deserves to be documented, not because everything is perfect, but because every season changes so quickly. The photographs become little markers along the way that remind us who we were, what life looked like and how much love existed right there in that moment.

And this moment?

This one is pretty darn special.

Garrett and Brianna, I am beyond excited for you both. I cannot wait to watch you become parents, to see this next chapter unfold and, obviously, to take approximately one million photographs of this baby. Being Aunt Annette has its privileges.

Baby Reeves, you are already so loved.

And we absolutely cannot wait to meet you.
