Year Family Photos with the Brewer Family in Leadore Idaho
There are just some families you instantly click with, and for me, the Brewer family has always been one of them. I’ve had the privilege of photographing them through so many seasons of life, from Erica’s negative eight degrees maternity session with little Arlee bundled up, to seeing them at weddings where Cace absolutely steals the show on the dance floor with his iconic “Cotton Eyed Joe” moves. Every single time, they remind me why I love being an Idaho Family Photographer so much.
Cace and Arlee are the definition of personality. The second I step out of the car, I already know I’m in for stories, questions, howling, giggles, and probably a full-speed adventure. And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way. When these two start howling during a session, it’s exactly what I expect from them and it makes the photos even better. They are unfiltered, fun, and so full of life that it makes my job as a Salmon Idaho Photographer feel more like hanging out with friends.
If you’ve ever done a family session with young kids, you already know: once one goes feral, they all go feral. Chaos is part of it. Energy is part of it. And magic hides in the middle of all of that. That’s why I embrace whatever kids bring because somewhere between the wild moments, the wiggly moments, and the “wait, where did they go?” moments is where the real memories live.
For the Brewers, animals are always part of the session. Their horses, their dogs—everyone gets camera time. This year, we did their session right in their backyard in Leadore, and honestly, Leadore is underrated. It’s wide-open, peaceful, and the kind of beautiful that reminds you why East Idaho is home. One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to shoot in the places that matter most to my clients. We live in such a gorgeous place—why not take advantage of the land right outside their door?
We moved the entire session from horses to games to exploring just letting the kids lead the flow. And as always, it was exactly the kind of wild, joyful, real-life storytelling that makes my heart so full.
I love this family. I love their animals. I love their energy. And I love that I get to be the one who freezes these moments year after year.
If you’re looking for an Idaho Family Photographer who embraces the chaos and celebrates the personality of your kids, I’m your girl.
Let’s go explore your backyard next.
