Books & Mountains - Hailey’s Salmon Idaho Senior Session
Meet Hailey
Hailey is a 2025 Salmon High School senior, and I had so much fun photographing her session here in beautiful Salmon, Idaho. As an Idaho Senior Photographer, I love when seniors trust me enough to try something a little different—and Hailey did just that. She was open to some creative ideas, and I think the results turned out perfectly her.
Hailey loves Dr. Pepper, Takis, books, birds, and art. I always enjoy learning about my seniors’ favorite hobbies and interests because it gives me a chance to incorporate a bit of their personality into the photos. Of course, we still make time for those classic smiling portraits (the ones Mom always wants!), but I believe senior photos should also reflect who you are right now—what you love, what makes you unique, and what feels like “you.”
For Hailey’s session, I stopped by Rags and Wags here in Salmon, where books are sold by donation. I picked up a few vintage books to bring her vision to life and paired them with the flowers she brought from a friend’s garden. We set up a cozy little scene with a crate and stacks of books, right against the breathtaking backdrop of the Salmon mountains. There’s something about those sweeping mountain views mixed with the peaceful simplicity of an open book that feels like the perfect reflection of this quiet, beautiful place we call home.
Hailey described herself as shy, which is something I see often in my senior sessions—and that’s completely okay. Getting in front of the camera can feel awkward at first, but that’s where I come in. My goal as a Salmon Idaho Photographer is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and at ease. We take our time, chat between shots, and ease into poses naturally so your personality can shine through. By the end of the session, most seniors tell me it felt more like hanging out than posing for photos.
Hailey’s session was a reminder of why I love photographing seniors—every shoot tells a story, and every story is different. I hope when she looks back at these photos, she not only sees how beautiful she looked, but also how far she’s come.
