I haven't had these two in front of my camera in forever! In fact, the last time I saw Tristyn and Henry, Henry was still super shy. 

This time Henry knocked it out of the park. Really. He did so good, I was so impressed by how well he did considering it was a photo session but Henry was posing his mom perfectly! He was getting into position for me, before I even asked. 

We opted for a morning session because after photographing children for over five years now, mornings are usually "safer," with little ones. We made it a small walk and adventure with Henry. 

He was talking up a storm about birds, turtles and it was such a sweet session.

I always go back to Mommy and Me sessions, they are what I started doing when I started photography. There is something about get a mom in front of my camera, relaxed and with her "babies." I have photographed quite a few mommy and me sessions over the years and the "babies" range from actual babies to teenagers. No matter what age a mom's "baby" is, every time they are doing a mommy and me session they are so happy. 

Mom wants photographs. She wants those memories. I know a lot of my mom clients stress over the idea of a mommy and me session and are surprised how "easy" the photo session really is. People work up this idea of what a perfect photo session is, they assume your kids have to be perfect, you need a new wardrobe and there is some sort of status you need to get to. 

Honestly, you being there is half the battle. I love showing moms (and dads) how fun sessions can be and how they can be stress-free. Tristyn's session was just that, stress-free. Why? There were no expectations on her or Henry, she got to pick what time was good for him and how she knew he would be and I love that about mommy and me sessions. They are about you and your priorities, your children and it's a great time to let go and just be with your kids in front of the camera for once.
