Decker and Harli are married!

Their day was nothing short of magical, celebrated alongside family and friends at the Phillips Property in Salmon, Idaho. As an Idaho Wedding Photographer, moments like these remind me why I love what I do, capturing not just a wedding day, but the heart of a couple’s story surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.

I’ve known Harli for years, and it’s been such a joy photographing her milestones. I still remember when her sister Lacie booked her first session, really just to have photos taken of Harli. She was so young then and since that day I’ve photographed her senior photos, best friend photos, couple photos, and now, her wedding.

Cue the tears.
Watching her grow into this beautiful, kind woman has been such a privilege. And then there’s Decker, he simply adores her.

The day started with Harli and her bridesmaids at the Stagecoach Inn. The girls were calm, laughing together, and enjoying the quiet before the excitement. Harli herself was so relaxed, until it came time to step into her dress. That’s when the butterflies set in, right before heading out for her first look with Decker.

I love when couples choose to do a first look. There’s something so tender about that private moment before the whirlwind begins. It’s just the two of you, emotions raw and real, without the eyes of a crowd. Decker stood waiting patiently, and when Harli tapped him on the shoulder, his face lit up with the biggest smile. He couldn’t stop staring at her. He even shed a few tears, which Harli gently brushed away. You could see the nerves melt from both of them in that instant, they were simply home with each other.

Harli twirled to show off her gorgeous gown, and she looked radiant. Decker was equally handsome in his suit jacket and hat, matched by his groomsmen who braved the summer heat with smiles. The bridesmaids, dressed in soft blush tones, added the perfect touch of elegance, with Harli’s sister standing proudly by her side.

The ceremony took place under a beautiful arch, officiated by Brian Inks. It was short, sweet, and filled with love. Just as the two shared their first kiss and walked back down the aisle, fireworks lit the sky, a surprise from Harli’s dad that made everyone cheer. It was one of those moments no one will forget.

The celebration continued with a taco dinner, crepe desserts, an open bar, and plenty of dancing. The first dances were especially meaningful. Decker shared a heartfelt mother-son dance with his two sisters in memory of their mom, a touching tribute that had guests wiping away tears.

Once the sun dipped behind the mountains, the party came alive. Harli had brought fun props just for the dance floor, and she told me she really wanted those energetic, joyful photos. So I returned later in the evening and captured the laughter, movement, and pure happiness of their guests. Those moments are the heartbeat of a wedding day, the proof that love brings people together in the best ways.

As a Salmon Idaho Wedding Photographer, I feel so honored to witness days like this. Decker and Harli’s wedding wasn’t just about two people promising forever—it was about friends and family coming together, laughing, crying, and celebrating a love that shines so brightly.
