Another year, another session with the Lundeens and like always, it was filled with adventure, laughter, and the kind of chaos that only siblings can bring (the best kind).
I absolutely love when this sweet family makes time for a photo session while they’re in town. Over the years, we’ve shared quite a few, often bouncing around the hills on a side-by-side in search of just the right backdrop. But this time, we decided to switch it up and head out to the cliffs and I’m so glad we did.
It was one of those golden evenings in Salmon where the light wraps everything in warmth and quiet. The cliffs gave us such a stunning view, and the color palette Lisa chose for the family couldn't have been more perfect, soft neutrals mixed with light blue and green tones that complimented the sunset beautifully. She always brings her styling A-game, and this time was no different.
As always, Beckham, Baylor, and Bishop were so much fun to photograph. These boys are growing fast, and watching their personalities evolve each year is honestly one of my favorite parts of what I do. We've moved on from the classic "say cheese!" prompts to more age-appropriate antics—this year included a little brotherly humor like "who farts the most" to get those real, unfiltered smiles. They're funny, kind, respectful, and just all-around good kids.
The cliffs are always what I like to call a “maybe” spot—it’s not a go-to location for families with really little ones. There's cactus scattered around, uneven terrain, and of course, the fact that you're on the edge of an actual cliff. But the Lundeens are always up for a little adventure. In true explorer fashion, Baylor spotted a cactus species he'd seen in a video online and even gave us all a mini lesson about it. That kid is sharp and I always love when sessions turn into learning moments like that.
One thing I always make sure to include in any family session is a few shots of just mom and dad. These two are the foundation, the center of the whole beautiful chaos, and it's so important to freeze that part of the story too. Lisa and her husband make it look effortless, watching them together is a reminder of the love that grounds everything.
Every session with the Lundeens is a favorite of mine. They trust me, they have fun, and they let me capture them as they are genuine, connected, and full of heart.
