Daniel & Logan’s Intimate Celebration at Williams Lake
One of the best parts of being a photographer in Salmon, Idaho is the people I get to meet. Some are just passing through, families here to raft the river, couples eloping in the mountains, or those hosting destination weddings surrounded by Idaho’s beauty. Salmon might not be on everyone’s radar, but for a lot of couples, it ends up being the perfect middle ground. That’s exactly how it worked out for Daniel and Logan.
Logan’s family is big, with most of them living back in Delaware. But with a couple of siblings living in Idaho and Montana, Salmon just made sense. Williams Lake became the perfect place to host not only their intimate wedding but a big family reunion, too. Everyone was able to stay together at the lodge, cook meals, catch up, and celebrate all in one beautiful spot tucked into the mountains.
Logan had a clear vision for the day. She didn’t just want pretty couple portraits all about her, she wanted photos that captured everyone. This wedding was about more than just the two of them. It was about their people. So we carved out time for family photos on both sides and even made sure each side had their own full family portrait.
Logan got ready inside the lodge with her sisters, sister-in-law, and nieces by her side. She wore a lace gown with detachable sleeves that flowed as she moved. When she stepped outside, the sunlight caught the delicate fabric just right. “They’re giving Stevie Nicks,” she laughed—and they absolutely were.
The ceremony took place right on the edge of Williams Lake. The water lapped softly against the shore as guests found their seats and the bridal party made their way down the aisle. Before Logan appeared, her recorded vows began to play through the speaker, soft, emotional, and straight from the heart. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Daniel stood with their kids by his side, watching and listening as his bride spoke to him for the first time that day.
Then came Logan, walking toward her groom.
The ceremony was short and full of heart. A kiss sealed it, and just like that, they were husband and wife. Everyone was invited back into the lodge where the celebration continued with first dances, dinner, and cupcakes. The whole evening felt relaxed, joyful, and full of connection.
Daniel and Logan, and their entire families, were so warm and welcoming. They made everyone feel like part of the group including me. It was such a joy to capture this day for them. It wasn’t just a wedding, it was a weekend of shared meals, laughter, and memories in a place that now holds so much meaning.
If you’re dreaming of a smaller, more intimate celebration like Daniel and Logan’s wedding—or something even simpler—Salmon is a beautiful place to elope. Whether you want to hike into a quiet mountain spot, say your vows by the river, or gather just a few close family members at a lakeside lodge like Williams Lake, there are so many ways to make it meaningful. If eloping to Idaho is on your heart, I put together a full guide to help you start planning. You can check it out here: How to Plan an Elopement to Salmon, Idaho.
