Salmon Idaho Senior Skyler

Skyler Salmon Idaho High School Senior
This one felt a little extra special.
Skyler has been in front of my camera for years now, and getting to photograph her senior session was one of those full-circle moments I don’t take lightly. We’ve gone from those early sessions to school photos, to getting ready for dances and now here we are, documenting her senior year.
Going into this session, Skyler had one request: snow. That was the vision. And honestly, I was all in on it too. We watched the forecast, crossed our fingers, and even planned a location with wide open 360 views just in case the weather decided to cooperate.
And guess what we didn’t get? Snow.
We almost did, like, so close it felt a little unfair, but it never quite happened. Still, that didn’t stop us. If anything, the cloudy skies ended up giving us something just as special. The mood, the tones, the feel of the entire session, it all came together in a way that felt a little more raw and a little more real. Some of my favorite images from her session have that deeper, moody vibe that you just can’t plan, it just happens.
We mixed in a few different outfits throughout the session, including her cap and gown, which I will always say yes to. I love when seniors choose to bring those along. It’s fun, it’s meaningful, and honestly, why not? You’ve worked hard for that moment, you might as well capture it.
That’s one of my favorite things about senior sessions, they don’t have to fit into a box. Whether you come in with a full vision (snow included 😉) or you’re just feeling it out as we go, we make it yours. We adapt, we get creative, and we document this season in a way that actually feels like you.
And sessions like Skyler’s always remind me why I love what I do so much,
One of the very first little girls I ever photographed was Skyler.
And somehow, in what feels like the blink of an eye, we’ve gone from those early sessions to annual school photos, to capturing moments before dances and now, her senior photos.
That’s the part of this job that never gets old for me.
Watching these kids grow up. Watching their personalities come into their own. Getting to be invited back into your lives, year after year, it’s something I will never take for granted.
My business hasn’t been built on one-time sessions. It’s been built on you—on the families who come back, who trust me again and again, who allow me to grow alongside them. Your loyalty, your support, and your belief in what I do has shaped not only my business, but who I am behind the camera.
Skyler is such a perfect example of that. Getting to photograph her over the years and now capture this milestone, it’s more than just photos to me. It’s history. It’s connection. It’s trust.
And to every single client who has been part of that journey with me—whether it’s been one session or ten, just know how deeply I appreciate you. You are the reason I get to do what I love.
