I got to see the Smith family again, and it made my day! Payson and Sadee are so kind, and it was so good to catch up with them, this time with a little road trip involved since they’ve moved away from Salmon. I was so happy they made the trip back not only for their photos but to spend some time with friends here too.

And then there’s Hayes. Oh my goodness. That kid is a HAM. He loved the camera, and honestly, I think the camera loved him right back. Every time I looked his way, he was ready with the biggest smile, the kind that makes your own cheeks hurt just watching.

Hayes showed up in full cowboy mode, black hat, big buckle, cowboy boots, the whole look, and I couldn’t handle how adorable he was. He looked like he just walked out of a western movie but with way more personality. He’s one of those kids who doesn’t even have to try to be cute; it just happens naturally.

We took advantage of the beautiful fall trees and the rich colors this time of year brings. The leaves were showing off, the air had that crisp golden glow, and it all came together perfectly for their session. It was the perfect mix of play, laughter, and those quiet family moments that make you pause and think, this is what it’s all about.

Seeing families return to me after they’ve moved or after a year or two has passed always means a lot. Watching kids grow, seeing how life has shifted a little, and getting to capture those new memories, it’s one of my favorite parts of what I do.

I loved every minute of this session with the Smiths, and I’m already looking forward to the next time they’re back in town.
