Meet Alex and Lindsey, two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet and one of my 2026 couples! These two will be saying “I do” at Sweet Water Hollow right here in Salmon, Idaho, and I couldn’t be more excited to capture their big day.

Alex and Lindsey made the trip from Boise, where they’re both students at Boise State University, to spend a weekend in Salmon. Between exploring town, checking out their venue again with Dylan Brewer, and soaking in the mountain views, they also decided to take advantage of the trip by booking their engagement session with me, and I’m so glad they did!

As a Salmon Idaho Wedding Photographer, I always tell my couples that engagement photos are more than just “extra pictures.” They’re a chance to celebrate this season of life, that sweet, fleeting time between “yes” and “I do.” But they’re also a huge bonus when it comes to the wedding itself.

Getting engagement photos done before your wedding gives us the perfect opportunity to get to know each other before the big day. You get to see how I work behind the camera, I get to learn what poses make you laugh, what angles you love, and how the two of you naturally connect. It takes away that awkward “photo jitters” feeling that so many couples have when we first start shooting on the wedding day. By the time your wedding rolls around, you’ll already know exactly what to expect, and that makes everything so much more fun and relaxed.

This year has been such a big year for engagements, and I’ve loved getting to meet so many of my couples ahead of time. So often, I don’t meet my couples until the wedding day itself, so sessions like these are special. It gives us time to chat, laugh, and make sure you feel completely comfortable. Plus, I love being able to help couples find local Idaho wedding vendors who I know will help make their day perfect because I truly want every couple I work with to have the best experience possible from start to finish.

For Alex and Lindsey’s session, we met in the early evening, and it couldn’t have been prettier. The light was soft and golden, and these two were absolute naturals. Some couples take a little time to warm up to being in front of the camera, and that’s totally normal! but Alex and Lindsey just fell right into it. They laughed, ran around, and gave each other those sweet, “I love you” glances that make my job so easy.

By the end of the night, they were completely in their element, laughing, teasing, and forgetting that I was even there (which is always the goal!). I can already tell their Sweet Water Hollow wedding is going to be full of love, laughter, and all the best kind of moments.
