Caden and Jacey’s Wild Horse Creek Ranch Wedding - Mackay, Idaho Wedding Photographer

Caden and Jacey had the most beautiful wedding day at Wild Horse Creek Ranch in Mackay, Idaho and it was so beautiful.

This was my second time photographing a wedding at Wild Horse Creek Ranch, and I swear it gets prettier every time I am there. The views surrounding the property are incredible, there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out, a full kitchen, a pool, rooms for guests to stay and so many beautiful little places for photos. It really is such a perfect spot for a wedding weekend.

And Mackay in general? Forever one of my favorite places to photograph weddings. The mountains, the open spaces, the light — it is just SO pretty. Every time I get to work there as an Idaho Wedding Photographer, I am reminded how lucky we are to have places like this basically in our backyard.

The girls spent the beginning of the day getting ready together, which I always love. There is just something about that part of a wedding day — music going, everyone getting ready, dresses hanging around, people coming in and out of the room, and all the excitement slowly building.

And we have to give a shoutout to Grandma, who was still making adjustments just HOURS before the wedding. Because honestly, what is a wedding day without someone in the family coming to the rescue?

Jacey looked absolutely incredible. Like . . .  INCREDIBLE. Her dress, her hair, her makeup, her boots, every single detail came together perfectly. I took so many photos of her that narrowing them down for this blog was nearly impossible. Every time I thought I had picked my favorites, I found another one.

I especially loved her boots and all of the little details she chose. Those are always some of my favorite things to photograph because years from now, those tiny pieces of the day can bring back so many memories.

Blue is also one of my absolute favorite colors to photograph at weddings probably partially because it is my favorite color in general but it photographs SO beautifully. The bridesmaids looked gorgeous and that blue against the Mackay landscape was perfection.

I actually had the privilege of photographing Jacey’s sister Vanessa’s wedding, so I already knew this was going to be a beautiful day with a really fun family. There is something extra special about getting invited back into a family for another wedding. You already recognize people, you already know a little bit of the dynamic and it almost feels like catching up instead of starting from scratch.

And Caden and Jacey together were just the cutest.

I genuinely loved my time with them as a couple. They were easygoing, sweet with each other, fun to photograph and just genuinely enjoyable to be around. Those are the couples who make my job feel less like a job.

Their ceremony was beautiful, but the ending might have been one of my favorite moments of the entire day.

As Caden and Jacey had their first kiss as husband and wife, their bridal party fired off confetti cannons around them. And it was PERFECT.

Confetti everywhere, everyone cheering, the two of them kissing in the middle of it, it made for such a fun moment and some of my favorite photos from the entire wedding.

Afterward we took advantage of those gorgeous Wild Horse Creek Ranch views for portraits before everyone moved into the celebration part of the night.

There was cake cutting, dancing, laughing and all of those little in-between moments that make a wedding feel like a wedding. One of my favorite parts about photographing these days is watching the formal pieces slowly fade away and everyone start to relax. Shoes come off, the dance floor fills up, drinks get poured and suddenly everyone is just there celebrating two people they love.

Caden and Jacey, thank you for trusting me to photograph this chapter for you. You two were wonderful, your day was beautiful, and I am so happy I got to be part of it.
