I always love when I get to spend time with the Taylor family especially when I get to photograph them at their home. They live in the most beautiful spot, surrounded by mountain views and incredible fall colors that make you stop and stare. Every time I’m there, I find myself wondering why we ever went anywhere else for photos. Their property truly looks like something straight out of a postcard.

Jordan and Lesli are such kind people, and somehow, they always manage to have all three boys ready and excited when it’s photo time. As a Salmon Idaho Family Photographer, I know that’s not always an easy task, but the Taylors make it look effortless.

Their boys, Ryker, Royce, and Axel, were all absolute stars this year. Axel especially had me laughing. The second he knew it was his turn, he’d sprint into position, flash the biggest grin, and pose like a pro. He was so into it, and it melted my heart every time. Ryker and Royce, the older brothers, were as sweet and patient as ever, always kind, respectful, and so gentle with their little brother.

We started the session on a hill right in their yard (yes, that’s their actual yard!) with those stunning mountains in the background. Then we made our way down their driveway again, yes, that’s their driveway and it was absolutely perfect for family photos. I love when families choose to use their own property for sessions. It adds such a personal touch and makes every image feel even more meaningful.

As an Idaho Photographer, I’ve worked with plenty of families who worry about taking pictures with young kids, wondering if anyone will smile at the same time or if it’s going to feel stressful. But honestly, it doesn’t have to be hard. When kids are in their own space, playing and laughing where they feel comfortable, the magic happens naturally. The best family photos don’t come from perfection, they come from those real, genuine moments that show exactly who your family is right now.

That’s what I love about being a Salmon Idaho Family Photographer and an East Idaho Photographer, getting to capture families like the Taylors in the middle of their everyday beauty. The giggles, the grass stains, the big smiles, and even the in-between moments when everyone’s just being themselves. Those are the photos you’ll look back on and treasure most.
