As a Salmon Idaho family photographer, few things fill my heart more than getting to walk alongside families through the seasons of their lives. Jake and Baylea are one of those couples who hold a permanent place in my heart and portfolio.

I first met them as a couple before their wedding, during their engagement session and even then, there was something so natural and warm about the way they looked at each other. In 2021, they said “I do” beneath the summer skies of Carmen, Idaho at Younger Cove. Their wedding was dreamy: soft hues, the smell of wild sage in the air, cookies baked with love, and those magical sunset portraits that still remain some of my all-time favorites. It was a day full of meaning, laughter, and the beginning of something bigger than either of them could’ve imagined. See here.

Fast forward a few years, and now here we are. The Plummer family has grown. Two beautiful boys, Kohlman and Brixton, have entered the picture. Both full of spunk and curiosity, lovers of rocks, sticks, and all things boyhood. Watching them explore, wander, and dig into the mountain soil with wonder reminded me just how fleeting these little moments are and how lucky I am to get to capture them.

There’s something so full-circle and profound about photographing a couple’s wedding and then, a few years later, chasing their toddlers through mountain meadows. It’s a gift I don’t take lightly. Every giggle, every muddy shoe, every little boy clinging to his mama’s leg—it all tells a story of a love that keeps growing.

This session took place in one of the mountain spots I’ve been itching to try this year. I’ve been scouting several new locations around Salmon lately, and this one checked every box—lush trees, glowing light, and enough open space for kids to just be kids. I’m loving these peaceful, natural spots where the focus can stay on connection and play.

Baylea, by the way, is an incredibly talented newborn photographer. She’s got that calming magic that gets babies to sleep peacefully while posing them like little works of art—something I’ve never been able to master. Meanwhile, I thrive in the joyful chaos: the running, the climbing, the unpredictable energy of toddlers and young families. It’s loud, wild, and wonderfully real and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

To the Plummers, thank you for trusting me again and again. Watching your love grow, and now your family grow, has been such a joy. I’m so grateful to continue telling your story through my lens.
