I am always so excited to see the Trusnovec family. They are one of those families that instantly make every session fun, easy, and full of genuine smiles. As a Challis Idaho Photographer and East Idaho Family Photographer, there is nothing better than getting to watch families grow over the years, and the Trusnovecs are a perfect example of that.

This was either their third or fourth session with me, and honestly, it is hard to believe how quickly time has flown by. It feels like just yesterday we were taking photos together for the first time, and now Abby and Cole are preparing to welcome another baby boy into their family. It has been such a privilege to document these milestones and watch their family story unfold.

Abby and Cole's two boys, Chris and Matt, are always full of energy, personality and excitement. The best part? At this point, they know exactly what they want to do during their photo sessions. We have had so many adventures together over the years that they come prepared with ideas of their own.

They love running through open spaces, getting tickled, exploring in the dirt and turning every session into a little adventure. Every time we meet, they immediately remember their favorite activities from previous sessions and want to do them all over again. I absolutely love that. Childhood is meant to be full of curiosity, movement, and fun, and I never want family photos to feel stiff or forced.

The boys are such a joy to photograph because they genuinely enjoy being part of the experience. Sure, like most kids, they occasionally need a little encouragement from mom and dad, and every session has a natural limit before they're ready to move on to something else. But they always show up with big smiles, lots of laughter, and a willingness to participate. Those authentic moments are what create the best photographs.

One of my favorite parts of this session was spending some time near the river. The setting was absolutely perfect and gave us a beautiful backdrop while still allowing the boys plenty of room to explore and be themselves. The combination of the scenery, the evening light, and the family's playful personalities created some truly beautiful images.

What I love most about photographing the Trusnovec family is how comfortable and relaxed they are in front of the camera. After several sessions together, Chris and Matt have their own favorite poses and ideas, which always makes me smile. Watching their personalities shine through year after year is one of the most rewarding parts of being a family photographer.

While we always capture plenty of great smiles and beautiful family portraits, my top priority is making sure every family feels comfortable and respected throughout the entire experience. Every client has a different comfort level when it comes to sharing photos online. Some families love seeing their images featured on social media and my website, while others prefer to keep their photos private. Both choices are equally important and respected. At the end of the day, these images belong to my clients, and my goal is always to honor their wishes while creating photographs they will treasure for years to come.
